This song was shared in my granddaughter's 5th grade kinder-garden ceremony. As the children began singing each child would come forward to the microphone as their teacher handed them a caranation and mother and/or father came forward child handing them the flower and then took a sit together. My being a grandmother cried so much because of the beautiful words and we as a country unite together in love of the USA. I now play my flute in church and share this story and the love and honor we have for each other.

I loved the way the late great queen of gospel music, albertina walker sang this song one time on a television program. It simplly means to the inhabitants of this planet, abide in perfect harmony among each other. No hate, no prejudice, no confusion, none of that. But you as an individual be the 1rst to show how that can be done by adjusting one's own attitude. "let there be peace on earth, and let it begin with me! "

This song has a lot of meanings to me. First heard it on the radio several years ago, and then at the hospital I worked for in sparks, nv use to have a sing along in the lobby for our patients who were long term acute care judy was one of our leaders of the music. We would meet in the lobby and any visitors who came through the main doors would get a special show. I sure miss those days. I loved this song so much judy gave me the lyrics for the song.
