So rest easy buddy" he might be indicating that the "Big Bowl in the Sky" is heaven and "We both know it's what you need, but I'm really gonna miss you, So rest easy buddy" means that Robbie is telling his dead pet chameleon that his soul needs to go to heaven (Big Bowl in the Sky) and that he's gonna miss him very much and then telling his pet to rest easy in heaven. I don't know what you think, but I hope my opinion about this song is good enough.

I think Robbie might be talking about one of his pet chameleons that died. In the lyrics, he said, "My handsome little scaly guy" which might be one of his chameleons. Robbie also said "To the big bowl in the sky
