Adele – Chasing Pavements lyrics
I've made up my mind,
Don't need to think it over,
If I'm wrong I am right,
Don't need to look no further,
This ain't lust,
I know this is love but,

If I tell the world,
I'll never say enough,
Cause it was not said to you,
And that's exactly what I need to do,
If I'm in love with you,

Should I give up,
Or should I just keep chasing pavements?
Even if it leads nowhere,
Or would it be a waste?
Even If I knew my place should I leave it there?
Should I give up,
Or should I just keep chasing pavements?
Even if it leads nowhere

I'd build myself up,
And fly around in circles,
Waiting as my heart drops,
And my back begins to tingle
Finally could this be it or

Should I give up,
Or should I just keep chasing pavements?
Even if it leads nowhere,
Or would it be a waste?
Even If I knew my place should I leave it there?
Should I give up,
Or should I just keep chasing pavements?
Even if it leads nowhere

Should I give up,
Or should I just keep chasing pavements?
Even if it leads nowhere,
Or would it be a waste?
Even If I knew my place should I leave it there?
Should I give up,
Or should I just keep on chasing pavements?
Should I just keep on chasing pavements?

Should I give up,
Or should I just keep chasing pavements?
Even if it leads nowhere,
Or would it be a waste?
Even If I knew my place should I leave it there?
Should I give up,
Or should I just keep chasing pavements?
Even if it leads nowhere

You've decided that you are in love with someone, who is almost a lost cause. But that doesn't change the fact that you love this person. You haven't told him how you feel, and even if you tell the world, he is the only one who really needs to know. Do you tell him, even though you know that you can't be with this person? Or should you just try to get over your feelings.

I was confused about the video. The song is about someone with an unrequited love. The lover knows there is no future in his/her love- and is yet filled with passion for them. She (I will refer to the singer as a she, since Adele is singing it and I also can't stop saying that in my head) wants to express herself, wants to explain to someone - anyone - her feelings, but it would be worthless since she isn't saying it to the person it's about. She knows what is happening, she knows she is in love with someone who either will not or can not love in return. The phrase "chasing pavements" refers to taking long walks to think (about her love) and aimlessly following the pavement under her feet. Should she give up on her love, or just continue following her emotions, leading herself to thoughts of someone she can't have? Logic says to give up, but the heart rarely follows rules of any kind. (Should I give up, or should I just keep chasing pavements, even if it leads nowhere.?) Would it be a waste to strive after her love? Even if she knew her place in their relationship should she leave it where it stands- empty - or continue to strive for him? (Of course pronouns can be exchanged or not used at all.) It's something most everyone has to go through in their lifetime at least once.

I just got out of a difficult relationship. It was a one way street with a dead end. I spoke to people close to me about what was going on but since I hadn't voiced it to her, I was not at peace with myself until I spoiled her thoughts and poisoned her mind. Sounds cruel but, the emotional pain will always scar worst, and be remembered forever. She became the pavement I chased, knowing it would lead me no where. We torture ourselves standing by that person whom you've grown to love hoping you might be wrong and they are still the same person you first met. In the end I spread my wings and took flight and haven't set foot on athat pavement no more!

She loves someone, finally gets the guts to tell him, and now she's waiting to see if he wants to accept her love and reciprocate, or if she should just move on. Sounds all too familiar to my current situation, but since I love him, it'll come in time. She's deciding if she should keep the hope and if he wants to stay open-minded about it, or if he wants her to move on and not waste her love on him when he never knows if his love will grow.

After seeing the video, I think it means that she can give up, or continue in a relationship that puts her in a constant state of being put in jeopardy of her heart being broken and being another 'casualty'. The victims of the accident were on the pavement, representing her in this relationship that leads to continually feeling as if it's killing her on the inside, over and over: chasing the pavement, or finding herself over and over the victim of the relationship 'accident'.

This song's for you max del amen. I know I blew my chance to be with you. I didn't realize that its you id like to be with until you were gone and things became more complicated for us. At times, I wish things had been different for us and fate had favored our relationship more. I regret that I didn't give "us" a chance. Sad but I know that we both have to stand by the promises we made with our present special someone.
If by fate we're bound to be together, I know that time will come and I definitely wont let this chance pass again. I will choose to be with you.
For now, il just keep my hopes up.
I hope you'll be able to read this max. Thank you.

I understand what this song means: and I just love it. Its really a song of deep thoughts of loving someone. Give up or just keep on loving them. Even if it leads no where. "Thats what tha song means" The vidoe mean: After the accendent should they both give up and die or keep reliveing there love they share right there on that pavement even if its a life time. Leading No Where.

Chasing pavements to me means that the guy is torn between two decisions of giving up with the one he loves or would he/she be continuing to love him/her even if he/she knows that it would be just a waste of time because he/she is hell sure that the person doesn't care for him anymore. And his decision is to continue in spite of the fact that it would be just like chasing pavements. It would lead him nowhere.

I think this song is about someone so in love with this person and they been chasing after for so long. They know people think its just because of looks & lust but it deeper then that. They realized that even if they tell the world how they feel about that person it won't a thing without that person knowing. So they decide to tell the person even though they keep putting off. And just before they tell the person they think about is this worth going after even if leads nowhere or they get here or should they just stay in their poper place and admire(love from afar and never tell the person.

I think this song is about a girl who has someone(thus she says should she stay in her place) but she wants to go after her old lover, she has to tell him she loves him because telling other people isn't enough. So she builds herself up to do it but she realizes she's chasing a lost dream because it might lead nowhere, he might not want her back. So she asks herself should she keep chasing pavements or stay in her place with the one she's with. The music video also helps you understand it.

Wow! This one really hits me at the heart! I've been seeing dan for about 7 years. If I stop chasing the pavements I, m empty inside. Yet I go no farther with him. I love him so much, but I know my place. If I give my life chasing the pavements, even if it goes nowhere,. It wasnt a waste. I have a special kind of love with him. I will cherish that as long as the pavements are in front of me.!

This song is so incredible! The first time I really listened to the words-I cried because that's exactly what I have been tossing about in my mind--shall I tell him or stay quiet? In some ways the song is uplifting and hopeful but it really hits the angst of the dilemma too.
And I still don't know what to do--I keep waiting for some kind of sign-maybe the song is the sign I need.

For me this song has so much attached to it. I'm a guy who had the most wonderful thing in life and because I didn't listen to her I lost her andam living in hell everyday now. She would try to play this after 6 years telling me listen to this listen. And I never listened to the words until she was gone. She was trying so hard to tell me she was hurting because I was not telling her. I might have thought I was letting the world know but like the song said it doesn't matter cause it was not said to her and if I loved her that's who I should have been saying it to. Now I lost her and hear those lyrics everyday. Make sure you truely listen.

I think this is about a woman who had this special love in her life, but for some reason it slipped away. Time has passed and now she realizes she wants him back. But she doesn't know where he, thus she would be chasing pavements. Nor does she know what his situation is. He could be married or with someone. Or he might not want her back. So these pavements may not lead anywhere.

I think this song means theres a girl who likes a guy and hes with someone else and in the beginning she says how much she likes him then she goes on to ask if she should give up on him cuz he has a gf? Or should she keep chasing her dream? (pavements) and then she says "even if it leads nowhere" so its kinda like even if chasing after him still doesn't make him love her is it worth the chase?

My word. Awesome song! I'm going thru this right now. The man I am heart/head over heels for is over 3, 000 miles from me. But I know he's the one. With all the obstacles should I just give up or should I keep chasing pavement? (running after what my heart is saying is correct) I can tell the world about how I feel for him but I haven't worked the nerve to say it face to face. Ohhh what a song!
To coffeefrost~Not all rap/Hip-Hop is about that. Get educated B4 you comment on A subject.

It's annoying coz you don't understand it. The song is painted with so much metaphor, if you didn't get it well that's too bad. The persona of the poem ponders whether she should keep loving the guy and has this little thing in her heart that she might just soon tire herself out. Really a pity that you just didn't quite get that every song meaning has to be spoon-fed to you.

The song was refers an incident that occurred after a Adele had a fight with a former boyfriend and she was running around the streets at 6AM aimlessly and she thought to herself what you are doing is chasing pavements.
Honestly, think about it every woman goes through this with her man. She debates whether or not is all worth it. Is it Love, Is it Lust, do I hate him, or can I live without him. Should I give up or keep walking around and think about it before I do something I regret later.

    Good evening, mysterious stranger!
Does such an imposing man have a moment to explain to a pretty stranger how she can find female happiness?
I have a proposition... Do you want to know what it is?
I'm at home alone and do not know what to do, can you come to me?
Here's my contact information ( https://bit.ly/3bQELQl ), through the forum is inconvenient to communicate(

She should keep going aftr hm cause he needs it youknow being her dad and all. She should keep doing what she does cause it feels good you know maybe even very good? Yes she should keep going aftr hm and not because of the toilet comeof now but because being afraid is wise, being afraid gets one very far in life especially because of the dad thing and all but idontknow maybe it's just a fairytale because it couldn't be abt chocolate slavvvery comeof now dad would be so uglll youknow being her dad and all. Maybe she's also jealous of adele? I mean can she sing like adele can she write music like adele pretending to be adele is lameuninspirational why is she always trying to be anyone but herself youknow being her dad and all. I'm disappointed.

I think she's trying to explain how the accident is the end of her road for love, but it doesn't have to be unless her mind is made up. As if she's confused on what to do, because either way would be a dead end and be a waste of time, but still is unsure. The video and lyrics paint a picture to what Adele is trying to explain.
Mm yes, and poplockdrop by your username I can tell you are one of the many rap junkies, but no offense all rap is guys singing about how girls get naked and how they are sexually attracted to them. No offense but doesn't have much feeling and realness. Pathetic, really.
