The different phases that happen when you grow up and first you find that your friends go their own way, then after you've been with someone for 20 years and your life was centered around the children you raised together only to find that the person you've shared your bed with all those years suddenly has an identity crisis and tells you they are leaving. Games people play. What you choose to believe or not believe is all part of the game.

Not quite. The album this song came from is themed around gambling - or a man gambling his life away - this song depicts the story of the life after the young man got caught up in the fantasy like world of gambling, where they all started out as children playing games but have since grown and gotten away from that life, but the man and his partner are still there, and now facing a bleak future , realizing they dont want to live there anymore and fade away with nothing, also understanding the games people played most of the adult life, telling lies and things that werent real or true and in the end the rest of their friends grew up and left and theres no one left to lend them a hand or care about them.
