The song represents reincarnation and the powers that be that hold us in it. It represents that no matter what form we take we go through these feelings of always wanting more. Down in this whole body as a living being. Our minds absorb worldly attributes that keep us held down in a pattern of dieing and living.

This song is about the "loss of faith" in ones ability to be forgiven by God. He expresses the feelings of self doubt due to his short comings and faliures in his spiritual direction, and even though he wants to be inside his lords embrace (womb) he feels lowly and undiserving of forgivness because he has constantly turned back to the life that would eventualy take him back down in his hole.

For me personally this song has to do with vulnerability. I typically internalize my thoughts and anger toward this bull s**t we call life. My internal dialogue is very iconoclastic, but there are times I let it out for good or for worse.

I'm constantly struggling with the anomaly of sharing what's beneath or going with the flow. The latter being much easier and the first leading to issues with family and friends.

However, the latter is very tiresome, and difficult with my strong convictions. Inevitably though lead to constant kicks in the teeth, and the battle of keeping quiet and sharing the true self is vulnerable and seems to be a quagmire at best.

That's where I'm at. 1 step up 2 down. No matter what, it seems a necessary. The evil ends the same with my wings denied!

Seems to me that this song is about the costs of fame. As an artist, the singer gives part of his innermost self (rare flowers) to his music and his fans but in turn loses other parts of himself in the process. Because it cannot be undone, he becomes trapped in fame by what other people expect him to be as an artist. Similar to the trope of "selling ones soul".

He was with a woman he loved .(bury Me softly in this womb)making love to her .Now she is gone and he feels like his soul is being burned. (I like to fly )Can mean he is on heroine (you feel like your in this warm womb..(shell ) Then when you come down you feel like you are being burned Alive. It can mean anything.that relates with your life .That's what makes it great.
