I do not think everything in our lives has to be a moral jugedmnt. When comparing style to faith you are comparing two different things. And that's why I called it a foolish example. I think you underestimate the power of people's own free will. You choose your life. If I choose to follow a trend that is still a choice nonetheless. In matters of style, you pay attention to what the media is doing. That is how "style" works. I don't get my morals from the media, and I think that is the difference. Yeah, if I thought the way chris brown or someone else dressed was cool I might imitate that style. But that doesn't mean that tomorrow I'm going to go smack up my significant other. There are different realities for different people. You have convinced yourself that everyone's life is the same. I promise you donald, your life is totally different than mine and thus we have two different versions of reality. Just because you say something doesn't mean it is grounded in the word of god. That is an arrogant statement. You, my friend, will never be able to convince me that you are the supreme expert on all things "biblical" and that if it flows forth from your mouth that it must be word because you my friend are not Jesus christ. People, much like yourself, come up with their own interpretations of what the bible is telling us. The bible itself is full of contradiction. The gospels say the same thing in different ways. Jesus died on the cross one time, but its funny because bible writers have him saying multiple things and why? Because they have their own interpretations. Remember, the men who wrote the bible had audiences just as well. Thus, they wrote to appeal to their different audiences; changing words and fabricating stories. Preachers and pastors today do the same exact thing. Arrogantly preach their interpretation of the bible as if they by some force were "called" to preach the word of god and half of them are living in sin and are bound by the same sins that they "damn" every sunday. So don't talk to me about what preachers and pastors there are in the world. I know a lot of them; they drive bmw's and cadillac's while half of their church gets their homes foreclosed on. That's whats real. If anything is wrong, it is that. You want to know why people have turned away from the church? It isn't because people like chris brown or who ever have made songs. It is because the church has failed the people. Plain and simple. Please tell me what the church is supposed to do. You might attend a great church, but I can assure you that your church is the exception. We haven't been "blinded" by the might powers of jay-z and beyonce or whoever else is the culprit in "controlling our minds" as you'd tell it. If Jesus could go into most churches today he'd probably turn every table over as he did in the temples in jerusalem. Churches with atms? Pastors with illegitimate children? Living immoral lives? Gambling and drinking? If someone is to be judged (and yes donald, it is jugedmnt), it is those people for they are the ones who, by their own decree, have been entrusted to teach the world to the people. When you show me how to fix that system, i'll show you how to get kids to stop listening to soldier boy and start listening to bishop T. D. Jakes. Listen to people donald. You are the one that should wake up. And listen to other people. You do not need to agree with everything people say but you should learn to respect differences in opiniontell me why the most vibrant congregations are the poorest congregations. The most beautiful examples of faith are the people in africa and third-world-countries who worship despite their countries being war torn. And I guarantee you they aren't paying 10% of their income to do such! Church is an industry just like the music industry. It is a business. And it has an agenda. Period. But I suppose you can introduce a reasoning for this right? These are exceptions right? I suppose that regardless of how many catholic priest get caught raping little boys that institutionalized religion is not, even if in the smallest way, to blame for the degradation of society? I suppose that no matter how many times you yourself see that many, many of the musicians that you know from what I call "the church" circuit are living the same life that you judge me for, you'll never accept the role that the church has played in destroying the relationship that people should have with god? No right? It has to be all of these fornicators, drunkards and adulterers signing on 92q who have misled the masses right?! Yet that is what we all are I speak not to insult, but to inform you that there is such a thing as difference of opinion and no matter how you feel about it you will never be right as I see it. But I will never be right as you see it. It is opinion and we both are imperfect therefore it doesn't make your opinion "better than mine" because you picked up a book that you aren't even sure is translated correctly and gleamed faith from it. If I'm asleep because I choose to search outside of what you would agree with for my ideas on faith, then I will sleep comfortably knowing that I am living in the best way possible for carl. I don't need to please anyone but me and my actions are between myself and god, and when you become god or Jesus christ then you can stand before me and say "you're wrong" but until that day i'll never accept your version of "reality".
