This song means a lot to me because I have been bullied numerous times, at school and at home. This song is saying, that you change yourself so much to accommodate the thoughts and feelings of others that you don't realize what truly matters, which is your thought and feelings. It doesn't matter what they think, because they're always gonna think you could look better or you need to buy this makeup or those clothes, or that you need to be more like them. The problem with that is that is takes away from who you are, and what you are. This song explains that to be you, you don't need fancy clothes, or to pile on makeup or to act differently, you just need to be you. Be confident about who you are, and if they don't accept you, that's their loss because you are an amazing human being with awesome individuality and an amazing personality. Don't change you for them. In fact, don't change at all, because you are perfect, and this song expresses that you don't have to try to fit in, you don't have to try to be some one else. You just have to get up when they knock you down, and be who you ware, not who they want you to be.

It is a very sad song to me because to me it means like it doesn't matter if someone else likes you it matters if you like yourself and just to ignore the bully's and the mean people and just don't worry about it and just walk away from the situation that there in or your in and it means don't get involved in a fight or a really bad situation don't join in the fight even if your trying to stand up for your friend or someone but its different if its a loved one in a fight with someone who lives on the street because if your loved one is struggling to get up and needs help you can always call the police 911 and if someone's trying to hurt you call for help to someone or you say stop I don't want you here or I don't like what your doing to me or I will tell the police then when your free go tell an adult or someone you trust what happened and you'll learn your lesson never talk to stranger's or go in there house or let them take you for a walk and just run away that's the lesson that you can learn at school to elementary I think middle school and high school I don't actually know about middle or high school I forget because it's been a such a long time since I've seen or gone to middle or high school.

I love this song because, basically, it's saying, "Does it matter more what society thinks about me, or how I feel about myself?" And "At the end of the day, the only person's opinion about you that matters is yourselves'." As long as you are happy with yourself, don't let anyone change you, because then you could be fulfilling someone else's stereotype while potentially sacrificing your own happiness.
It encourages girls to look to themselves and see if they are satisfied with who society has asked them to be; what society has demanded they wear, or act, or dress. It brings attention to the fact that girls are always stereotyped into one fit of "beautiful" while in reality, all women are beautiful.
For some women, they feel the best about themselves with a little make up, and that's okay. Others feel more comfortable going natural, and that is also okay. Some people go through a stage and get piercings and tattoos, and, guess what? That's okay too. As long as you accept yourself and are happy with yourself and express yourself, who cares what anyone else thinks? (Sometimes people go a "little" too far with expressing themselves but hey, que sera, my friends.).

This song is a pretty standard song that is telling others to believe in themselves. Other songs like this include Little Me by Little Mix, Wings by Little Mix, Roar by Katy Perry, even Shake It Off by Taylor Swift and All About That Bass by Meghan Trainor. I think that all of these songs have great meanings and great lyrics, but I like this one the best because she is singing to another person about self belief and that they're wonderful, rather than the usual me-me-me-me-me of the other songs like this.

I suggest that this song is about people wanting to fit in and forcing themselves to fit in, but this song is telling people out there to be who you are, you don't have to pretend to be someone you're not. If you weren't able to look in the mirror and see what you really are, just let yourself out there so people can see who you really are.

I honestly feel like it could be a song written from one lesbian to her liver about trying to fit in. I've been in a similar situation before. Doing things for other people to like you when there is a person that loves you right in front of you trying to get you to see.
