This moving, grief-wracked ballad about a child never born was sparked by the birth of twins to Chris Daughtry. At one point during the writing session, the frontman had to walk out to collect himself. "The song is about realizing that today could have been the day that someone would be blowing out the candles," he said. "It just hit me pretty hard. I remember playing the demo for my brother and I turned around and he was bawling. I didn't realize that my brother's wife had suffered a miscarriage years before. It was a pretty emotional moment."

I met my husband at age 19. We were in college and he was in the marines. We got married at age 20 and shortly after we had a daughter named christa. In 1996, at age 4 christa died from complications of leukemia. This year she would have been 20 and it kills the both of us. You can never forget and as parents we will always wonder what if? I love this song. It makes me smile and cry at the same time. My husband loves it as well.

I wish no one would ever have to feel the meaning of this song. For all of our angels that we will see one day. Thank you this song will stay in my heart forever along with my son colt. No one could have written such a beautiful piece unless they have felt the loss, for that I am truly sorry for your loss. Please know that you have and will touch so many more. Amen!

We had a miscarraige last summer. But just a few months later found oursleves expecting again. But after nearly 5 months of pregnancy an ultrasound showed that his heart had stopped beating. All our joy and excitement was gone just like that. Not many people understand what its like. I came across this song at such a perfect time. It explains it perfectly. I love daughtry and thru this song have gained a great respect for them.

After 4 years of trying to have a baby we got pregnant & out of no where I had a miscarriage at 12 weeks-it was so painful-something I never could imagine what it felt like & how hard it would be to go thru- one day we were seeing & hearing the heartbeat & one day it was just gone. I love this song -it is something so many of us feel & just don't ever get the chance to express-thank you for it-♥.
