David Karsten Daniels was born in Lubbock, Texas on August 20, 1979. His early years were spent in Montgomery, Alabama, Princeton, NJ and Dallas, Texas singing in school and church choirs. In college, David majored in Music Composition and played double-bass in the Symphony Orchestra.
