Its about how Don Broco are going to progress as artists and as a band, they have worked so hard to be where they are and I personally feel like this song reflects on where they are now compared to where they have come from. You can see that the song is about a friendship (or in their case a band relationship) rather than a love relationship because they say that they can have fun and get paid for it. Don Broco are really good at showing their fans this and I hope they do more like this in the future.

Although at first this song sounds like its about a relationship with a female where they are struggling to live off very little money, it becomes more and more apparent that this song is rather perhaps about the relationship between the band mates, and how they each feel about being "poorer than poor". This is backed up by:
"let's be broken men together", "And we do what we want, don't answer to anyone, every night and getting paid for it."
