There is always a discussion - Is this song about the death of beloved or the death of love? I have listened to this song countless times, and, to my mind, it is about death of love, which consequently turns to death of both lovers. Such lyrics at the beginning as:

It means that love is gone. She died. Then, because of this, lovers decide to leave the world together.

Further it might be interpreted as follows - The man kisses her beloved goodbye on her last breath.

"Swept away by heavy eyelids..." - means gone, deceased.

"Forever in my dreams..."

Well, to my mind, these lyrics speaks loud and clear.
