Now, I don't know about you, but I don't think the primary purpose of your life, of my life and the entirety of the human race's is just to blindly consume to support a failing economy and a faulty system, forever and ever until we run out of every resource and have to resort to blowing each other up to ensure our own survival. I don't think we're supposed to sit by idle while we continue to use a long outdated system that produces war, poverty, collusion, corruption, ruins our environment and threatens every aspect of our health and does nothing but divide and segregate us. I don't think how much military equipment we are selling to other countries, how many hydrocarbons we're burning, how much money is being printed and exchanged, is a good measure of how healthy our society is but I do think I can speak for everyone when I say, we're sick of this shit.

    No need to complicate it - its about capitalism and how those who benefit keep control - by knowing this we can work around their schemes to help bring about the change that will benefit us all. Throwing bricks at pigs isn't the way, intellectual debate and getting people to drop the value systems taught to us as kids is. Go educate - we all need to spread the word so we can turn the world around to benefit us instead of 'the pack of thieves' that turn us over at the moment.

    Its embarrassing all the people who listen to this song without understanding its meaning. This is an attack on capitalism which is crippling the average hard working people and benefiting the small minority of overpaid wankers who exploit us. The rich suppress us through their media, indoctrinating us and preventing us from making a stand. This song is telling us not to stand for corrupt government and do something. People have the power.

    This one is pretty self explanatory but seems like the song along with many others signify the beginning of the end for capitalism, highlighting the negatives through out and emphasizing a need for change and resistance.
    We need an ideological revolution, re-distribution of wealth, labour, resources. Food, water, shelter, clothes and education for all citizens of the world as standard.
    End war! Spread peace!
    By looking at who stands to profit it is possible to see who the guilty parties are for manipulating the masses. This is a minority, that must be overthrown for the sake of all. The richest 1/5th of the world use 4/5ths of all resources.
    Saying that those being manipulated arent free from blame, however they are just the products of an evironment of fear and a fucked up "educational" system.
    Viva la revolution!

    I think this song is all about how when it comes to a major world disaster, then the dictators and powerful figures might turn their back on us and pull out every stop for their own survival. And as people realize ("we stop, think, begin to revive" onwards) what's going on around them and how messed things are, people should remember the teachings of ghandi and how that made the world a better place through one change or difference by one man in a society which is not the nicest or worst situation to be in, which may paint an accurate portrayal of the future of this planet, that could be only explained in this song or in movies. But that's just my opinion: p.

    For the line yabba dabba do understand, we don't want your rules, I'm not sure here, but its like there saying that we are not going to bow down to the threats of running out of oil and coal and the government fighting over who holds the power of the oil and coal, because in the flintstones (yes the cartoon) the whole world has been built on a system of natural resources, and we can have that system, if we just try.

    The song starts with a rant that attempts to sum up the state of the world and describe the breadth of the destructive paradigm we currently live in 30 seconds. It then weaves in and out of satire and various characters and emotions. It's a very frustrated and confused song, and reflects the general zeitgeist at the moment; people know we have the resources, the creativity, and the ingenuity to do better than what we have at the moment and are struggling to come to terms with the short term love of money over the long-term stability and progression of our species.

    They are a great band, with great intentions (however vulgar they show them). But people have to remember that they sing about the ideal sense. Idealistically we could all disregard our governments and work together as a happy 7 billion person family. Most of es's targets are actually the people who proctect us from far greater problems. However, as they speak about life in the ideal sense, these governments and powers become the bad guys. To me I see nothing political about this band, as politics is related to government and they speak against it.

    This is how the world is going down hard. I mean about all the taxes that go up for the poor and get deducted for the rich how is that fair?. Why should be fight over resources instead we should be working together to utilize what is left on this planet not waging wars for unexplained reasons how the government keeps us in the dark on hoe screwed we really are.     This world is complicated, difficult to comprehend and often at times unfair, decisions are made, sometimes for the benefit of the decision maker, sometimes because it is believed it is the best thing to do.
    He argues that he does not like the labels of communist or utopianist, however, he's pulling out the flaws in society when looked at from a refreshed and disengaged view seem logical but when scrutinised, it is society making the decisions. We decide to burn the hydrocarbons in our cars and homes. We are the people who push for further advancements in technology.
    As for war, it's human nature to be greedy and to continue expanding as far as we can, war is an essential part of life, if wars weren't started by x country then they would be started by Y.
    He sounds like he has pretty ideological veiws to me, but w/e. It does what a song should. Thought provoking, interesting and entertaining. Awsome song.

    As with all art it's ambigious, you put your own meaning to it. It's not as if they've just chucked a song together, it's thought about, and anyone who comtemplates philosphy or politics will usually realise it's all a circle and as such is almost impossible to dictate. Personally, I think the song ironically comments on that and the album and band as a whole strives for a pursuit of solidarity by any means.
