Family Guy – Family Guy Theme Song lyrics
[Verse: Lois Griffin]
It seems today
That all you see
Is violence in movies
And sex on T. V

[Bridge: Peter Griffin]
But where are those good old-fashioned values....

[Bridge: The Griffins]
On which we used to rely?!

[Chorus: All]
Lucky there's a family guy!
Lucky there's a man who
Positively can do
All the things that make us...

[Fill: Stewie Griffin ]
Laugh and cry!

[Outro: All]
He's our Fam-ily Guyyy!

Personally I think the first line is made to be true, when you turn on the TV all you see is violence, nudity etc, With that being said if you slowly show society sex and violence so much, in an increasing manner your making them less sensitive to the things you show (violence, sex)
The second verse is to be made for you to look in-between the line. (in some sense) If you look at he first line(3rd verse) "lucky theirs family guy" if your able to acknowledge the fact that humor has changed for the worst. Look at the humor in Bewitched and Family Guy or Leave it to beaver and the Simpsons. And the 2nd line in the 3rd verse "positively can do, all the things that make us, Laugh and cry" (Stewie is the smartest in the show so he would be most likely to catch on to this trend in society) is revering to the fact that it makes a good amount of people laugh but when you see what this generation finds funny it will make you sad (cry).
Again this is a personal thought and I'm not Seth McFarland so I can't answer if there is a true meaning behind the literal words.
