The Greatest Love of All is a song BY Michael Masser and Linda Creed. Whitney Houston recorded it as did others, including George Benson. The Songwriters should be given credit. Singing a song, or even recording it, does not give ownership to the recording artist. Michael Masser wrote many other huge hits for Whitney and others. Look him up.

This is the story of one growing up emotionally and depending on your self. It is about growing up thinking that one depends on others for our inner needs and being slowly disappointed that they are not really there.
So many things are thrown at us, forced on one and told what to do that one misses the importance of yourself. It is the story of learning to treasure yourself and passing that knowledge onto our children so that they do not have to spend the time finding it, possibly not even finding it as many of us do, and thus be in a position of confidence and ability early in life. Loving ones self is not selfish. One of the things it enables you to do is to give whole heartedly. It puts one in a place to offer this crucial message to others.
