Her's – Harvey lyrics
[Verse 1]
Some people think I'm acting worse for wear
Suffice to say this is a quaint affair
But no one really knows me like Harvey
And once you've met him I'm sure you'll agree

(Yeah I get it)
(You wanna know)
(Who he is)
(Where we go)

(Yeah I get it)
(You wanna see)
(What it is)
(Him and me)

[Chorus]
Harvey
Nobody knows what I see
Nobody knows I'm waiting
Waiting for you to call

Harvey
Nobody knows what I see
Everyone thinks I'm crazy
Crazy for you, oh boy

[Verse 2]
Barked at the moon amid an empty street
We felt the remnants of the evening heat
Said "Harvey let me be the one to say"
"I wouldn't dream this any other way"

(Yeah I get it)
(You wanna know)
(Who he is)
(Where we go)

(Yeah I get it)
(You wanna see)
(What it is)
(Him and me)

[Chorus]
Harvey
Nobody knows what I see
Nobody knows I'm waiting
Waiting for you to call

Harvey
Nobody knows what I see
Everyone thinks I'm crazy
Crazy for you, oh boy

[Bridge]
Harvey
Nobody knows what I see
Everyone thinks I'm crazy
Crazy for you, oh boy

[Chorus]
Harvey
Nobody knows what I see
Nobody knows I'm waiting
Waiting for you to call

Harvey
Nobody knows what I see
Everyone thinks I'm crazy
Crazy for you, oh boy

It might have some relation to the 1944 play Harvey where the main character Elwood Dowd has an imaginary friend rabbit named Harvey. His friendship with Harvey gets in the way of his high class social situations (Elwood happens to be rich), but he doesn’t really realize it and loves his friend all the more.

I have both read and watched a rendition of the play Harvey, and I am in love with this song. I never looked this much into the relationship between Elwood and Harvey, and I love how Her’s has brought it to life. The lyrics are very moving and it truly does feel like Elwood is talking to someone he deeply loves. Bless Her’s for this masterpiece and may they rest in peace.

This song is about a play known as "Harvey" which features a rich man named Elwood Dowd with an imaginary rabbit named Harvey, a 6-foot tall rabbit. The play itself is about defending your friendships and valuing them no matter what gets in the way of life. Even to this day, Harvey is one of the greatest films that tackles the problems that normalization poses towards anyone that society deems abnormal. The film is great but it doesn't really feature the relationship between Harvey and Eldwood, and this song had a great way of making that relationship more transparent. Rest in peace Her's. You were an awesome band and you didn't deserve the fate that came to you guys.
