Jake Hess (, 1927 - , 2004) was a Grammy Award-winning gospel singer in the southern United States. He was born Manchild Hess , 1927, in Limestone County, Alabama. (Later, when he registered with the draft board in Lincoln, Nebraska, he gave his name as "William Jesse Hess.
