To me, its about becoming sick&tired of being sick&tired and the thoughts that one goes through when they reach the end of their rope before committing to a change of lifestyle. The behaviors exemplify behaviors of when you decide to change--one isolates and feels somewhat resentful but knows it will take time to cultivate a new reality and to become who they want to be&do what one knows is right to do.

This song is about him not wanting to live like scum any more and wanting to change his life for someone he wants to be good and honest and have fun or at least play Nintendo like a kid this song is about change and being a good person and having some harmless good fun be an outstanding citizen and be you everyone is good inside my mom tought me about this and showed me this song its truly an inspiration.
