This song is about how hard you fall for your significant other. In the first verse it says "Am I asleep, am I awake or somewhere in between. I can't believe that you are here and lying next to me. Or did I dream that we were perfectly entwined. Like branches on a tree or twigs caught on a vine." Basically this verse is saying I never thought that something as great as you could ever come into my life and I can't believe that you're here with me. Or maybe it could be a dream.
The second verse says "Like all those days and weeks and months I tried to steal a kiss. And all those sleepless nights and daydreams where I pictured this. I'm just the underdog who finally got the girl. And I am not afraid to tell it to the world." This verse is basically saying he thought about and wanted to be with this girl for so long and the guy she never expected to want her, the one she's looked past forever finally got her and he's super proud.
The chorus says "Truly, madly, deeply, I am foolishly completely falling. And somehow you've kicked all my walls in so baby say you'll always keep me. Truly, madly deeply, in love with you." The chorus is saying he's completely fallen in love with you and you've broken in and now you're in his heart and he wants you to say that you'll never leave.
The third verse says "Should I put coffee and granola on a tray in bed? And wake you up with all the words that I still haven't said. And tender touches just to show you how I feel. Or should I play it cool like it was no big deal?" In this verse he's saying that he wants to make you feel special but he isn't sure how you feel about him yet so he doesn't know whether to talk to you like you love him which might have you lean towards that or act l like this is just a casual thing.
The fourth verse says "Wish I could freeze this moment in a frame and stay like this. I'll put this day back on replay and keep reliving it. Cause here's the tragic truth, if you don't feel the same my heart would fall apart if someone said your name." In this verse he's saying that he doesn't want to make a wrong move, but he knows how he feels right now when everything is new and untouched. He wishes it would just stay like that because human beings mess up beautiful ideas.
The next verse is "I hope I'm not a casualty, I hope you don't get up and leave. Might not mean that much to you but to me its everything" In the last verse of this song he's saying that he hopes that she doesn't get up and leave without even giving him a chance. He hopes that it means something to her and even though it might not he'd at least like a chance to show her what he can be.
