    It's basically something that congratulates you on your completion of Portal. Plus, one of the reasons they did it is because they knew that since it was part of the Orange Box, people were going to jump at Team Fortress 2 and The Half Life games, so they wanted to start something new, Portal.
    But they didn't know how to get people to love it. So they threw in a female voice, no other humans in sight, and a song at the end. And anyway, if you didn't play the game, you shouldn't be istening to it anyway because the entirety of the song is, as, Kaekun said, reflecting off the events which happened in the game.

    The Portal Series is technically one of the greatest games I've played because of the thrilling twist of the whole storyline within the game itself. GLaDos became addicted to test subject that she thought all of them will play by her rules. As Chell woke up (in Portal 1) she tried to kill Chell using the turrets. Chell destroyed her to escape and take the cake (which is at the last part). In Portal 2, GLaDos was reactivated by her and GLaDos immediately placed her on testing again. As you progress, you will see how much destruction Chell (which is by the way your character) did as she destroyed GLaDos. But even though you have destroyed GLaDos, she still helped you after all the things you have done to her (seriously, putting in her a potato?). She let you free with a free-of-charge Companion Cube. And she also gave you a very beautiful orchestra of turrets as you exit the facility.

    GLaDOS is actually, seemingly, immortal. This is good! That's how she was designed. CJ built her to cheat death. But Aperture forced Caroline in it when CJ died. Even though you didn't want to, which is why she's angry. This means she COULD be serious about the first part of the second verse, as she still has some morality. The cores were just guiding her. They, however, were very annoying. In response to the popular question of how GLaDOS got back in the facility, the ground probably collapsed. GLaDOS, as you may have noticed, is rather large. Or the Party Bot may have redownloaded her but not bothered to turn her on. Or Wheatley did it, which wouldn't be surprising, knowing him. Also, "and believe me I am.." is a reference to why she was created: to cheat death. It's hard to kill her. What's odd is why Wheatley put GLaDOS in a potato instead of just killing her outright. Why did he give up that chance? We may never know. Aperture is a mystery, and will probably be forever.

    Oh, and as a side note, if the OSHA visited Aperture, how many citations would they get? (Assuming nobody tries to purposely kill them).

    This song has double meaning. The obvious meaning is the meaning inside the game. You finish it and *kill* glados. But the hidden meaning talks about the making of the game. The game is a huge success. "making science" is making the game.
    When you record a cd, you literally burn it. A laser burns the game data following a very long line (a spiral) starting from the center of the game. Having this in mind read this again:.

    hi i want to play potal just for still alive i know all the puzzles exept for all of portal 2 still alive is a great song but the end of portal 2 proves that GlaDOS os not a bad person and wasant always a robot but the abacure people woke her up and said that she could live forever

    ok so pretty much im confused. in portal 1 she says she is not angry, BUUTTTT in portal 2 SHE IS REALLY MAD. I need an explanation. Mabye because the song takes place before she is alseep for 9999999 years or something. Want you gone makes sense. But im sure you wouldnt know isnt even canon. I think it is because of the whole 999999 years thing. Also guys, what do you think would lead up to dont say goodbye? And also portal 2 wouldnt exist if still alive was canon soooo i understand the devs point of view.

    I am. Bigly, hugely, folks, believe me, nobody’s ever been a bigger tool than me. It’s true! I was a tool long before being a tool was cool. I was born a tool, I stayed a tool, and I’ll die a tool, like my father before me, and his father before him. A long line...of tools.

    did you know that the portal peoples didn't want everything ruined so now you just have a clean test chamber the only broken one is test chamber 15 witch also happens to be with the companion cube also the secret room with all the pictures of the companion cube is based of the portal comics were the guy loses the companion cube and in the comix the companion cube does speak although in the game GLaDOS says it doesn't but she also says not to take its advice as if it might speak but i would listen to the companion cube instead of her one more thing i want to play the first game 2 times one liseng to gLaDOS and another not listening to her and ni the game the elevators are there because so no one warps to different test chamber but if you play it lising ing to glados you will not comleat the game also you should know not to lisen to GLaDOS because at the beging of the game heres what she says: we will stop telling the truth in 3 2 (static)

    Still alive was a great game, i totally recomend it! Of course, the game contains blood and is designed to be a fairly creepy game at times. This song in my opinion has two meanings. Or more, if youre willing to dig that deep. The first meaning is the surface one, as after you defeat glados and we discover that shes pretty much imortal. She sings about how aputure science works, and how she hints about cake, which is a fun easter egg sort of. She tells you that she is proud of you for escaping, and she isnt mad. (Which is kind of a lie, because at the beginning of the third game, portal 2, she is pretty mad, XD) the second meaning would be the morals of the game, which are perseverance and creepy sound effects, XD. But seriously, perseverance was something me and my brothet really needed while completing the game. GladOS talks about "we'll keep on going, untill we run out of cake". The mention of cake is a fun bit, but the deeper meaning is perseverance through trials and failures. Again, this is just MY oppinion, i guess you can think whatever you like, XD.

    this song shows that GLaDOs is still alive hinting at her return in portal 2. also the line "Maybe you'll find someone else
    to help you. Maybe Black Mesa?" ties the events of portal to the events of half-life. the song also congratulates the player for beating the game.

    They should have put this song on portal 2 like in the beggining instead of classical music the robot mistakes still alive for his classical cd and puts still alive instead that would have been better and to the person that said glados is chells mom your wrong cause if youve ever played portal 2 then you would know that chells last name is johnson so her dad is cave johnson and her mom is caroline johnson so her parents were the old owners of aperture science and if youve ever heard of ratman then you probably don't know that hes her cousin because in one of his hide outs hidden throughout portal 2 you here him scream "help me uncle johnson!! " and chells dad is cave johnson so that proves that ratman or doug rattmann is chells cousin who saves you and brings you back to aperture science after the events of portal 1.
