Religious Music – I Walked Today Where Jesus Walked lyrics
I walked today where Jesus walked,
In days of long ago.
I wandered down each path He knew,
With reverent step and slow
.

Those little lanes, they have not changed,
A sweet peace fills the air.
I walked today where Jesus walked,
And felt Him close to me
.

My pathway led through Bethlehem,
A memory's ever sweet.
The little hills of Galilee,
That knew His childish feet.

The Mount of Olives, hallowed scenes,
That Jesus knew before
I saw the mighty Jordan row,
As in the days of yore.

I knelt today where Jesus knelt,
Where all alone he prayed.
The Garden of Gethsemane,
My heart felt unafraid.

I picked my heavy burden up,
And with Him at my side,
I climbed the Hill of Calvary,
I climbed the Hill of Calvary,
I climbed the Hill of Calvary,
Where on the Cross He died!

I walked today where Jesus walked,
And felt Him close to me.

Having recently been on a pilgrimage to Jerusalem, I can relate to the words of this song/poem. Having walked the path that Jesus took to his death and resurrection, I could feel my nearness to my God. The path taken on my journey, I believe, has brought to me a new physical and emotional attachment to my Lord, and has the poem completes it says ‘I walked today where Jesus walked and felt him close to me‘. I thank the Lord for His sacrifice, in order that I and those who follow Him have eternal life, John 11 v 25.

The third verse of this song, I believe, portrays that we should never be afraid to come to Jesus for support and strength. Whatever worries or concerns we have, Jesus is there to take that journey with us- to share the load, and by sharing the load, the concerns or worries are then felt to be less. As the old saying goes ‘ a problem shared is a problem halved’- tell someone about your problems/concerns/worries, and it is easier to deal with; and who best to share with- Jesus. Matthew 11: 28 says ‘Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.’ Amen

This had to be written from the perspective of the man who was forced to carry Jesus' cross. Otherwise it wouldn't make sense. Very meaningful when you consider that. Taranda Green sang this at arranger Larry Goss' memorial service like I have never heard it before. Find it, you will be blessed!

It still doesn't let me out of "Post Meaning" Any suggestions will be appreciated. Please ignore, I accidentally chose to "Write about...." It requires at least 50 words. Joshua Fit the Battle of Jericho, Jericho, Jericho; Joshua Fit the Battle of Jericho and the walls came tumblin' down. (Repeat). The wallls came tumblin', the mighty walls around Jerico came down, hum hum hum hum hum. (Big finish). And the walls came tumblin' down.
