I think this is about a couple who are having an affair, but also live/work miles away from each other.
Their time together is precious and although they are lovers behind closed doors,, when they are together in public, they have to pretend they are just friends.
One is single and the other married/in a relationship that they cannot leave. The person who is part of the couple is asking the single person to "behave" and not go with anyone else, as the married person is not intimate with their partner, only with their lover.
That's what I think anyway, as I am in this exact situation, and the song fits.
