    People go to war and fight for the ones that they love at home. Its saying its in the eyes of the children b/c children are forced to see it as they are forced to think that war is worth their lives. When it talks about the soldier it's talking about the child still, but now he has become a soldier and he is shot. When it says its in the face of the mother as she takes the force of the blow, its saying that now she is also hurt with the news of her childs death. She has the pain of losing them. When it says that its in the hands of the father its talking about the fact that men in gerneral are working hard and alot of their tax money is getting used to pay for the war. When he talks about standing under a white flag he's talking about trying to end all of the war. To stop everything from happening. Trying to create peace. The whole thing if you read through it you can see that its about war.
