Van Morrison – Kingdom Hall lyrics
So glad to see you
So glad youre here
Come here beside me now
We can clear inhibition away
All inhibitions
Throw them away
And when we dance like this
Like weve never been dancin before

Chorus:
Oh, they were swingin
Down at kingdom hall
Oh, bells were ringin
Down at the kingdom hall
A choir was singin
Down at the kingdom hall
Hey, liley, liley, liley
Hey, liley, liley, low
Do do do do do do, do
Do do do do do do
Do do do do do do, do
Do do do do do do

Good body music
Brings you right here
Free flowin motion now
When were shakin it out on the floor
Good rockin music
Down in your shoes
And when we dance like this
Like weve never been dancin before

Repeat chorus

Down at the kingdom hall
They were havin a party
They were havin a ball
Bells were ringing out
And the choir was singin
Hey, liley, liley, liley
Hey, liley, liley, low
Do do, do do, do do, do do
Sugar was there
Did you see sugar
Down at the kingdom hall
Sugar was tough

Surely this is a song of irony? The only joy there is the love bombing of new people to make them believe they’ve found’ ‘The Truth’. This is the place to GET new inhibitions and be controlled with Orwellian disciplineFor your thought crimes as well as being filled by the rewriting of shameful Watchtower history. Genuinely lovely people but subjected to working voluntarily for a publishing empire. For real truth go to JWfacts.com

I love Van Morrison and this song, but I was raised a JW and I don’t know what Kingdom Hall in Ireland he went to. Kingdom Halls are dark and depressing places. People are unloving and there is no joy, unless you are a potential convert, then everyone is happy to see you - probably because it is such a rarity. If anyone is interested in learning more about Jehovah’s Witnesses visit John Cedars channel on YouTube.

Yeah, for true representations of what Jehovahs witnesses are like, go to jw.org, right. I'm sure it'll tell you all about Geoffrey Jackson lying to the Australian Royal Commission under oath, and certainly it'll inform you that they were an ngo member of the UN for a decade, til it came to light, and no doubt it will explain how the bros in Mexico could bribe govt officials into filling out a cartilla, stating theyd completed army training, and OFFICIALLY be enlisted in the army, while Malawians were told to die, starve, and watch their 13 yr olds be gang raped rather than carry a party card. Oh, fuck yeah, Im sure all that truth is right there on jw.org! Jws have no clue regarding their own religion. They aren't allowed to.

Interesting song but doesn't describe a real Kingdom Hall which has no ringing bells or choirs. Attendees do not lose their inhibitions but are respectful of others. There is no dancing or shouting. The singing is done by the whole congregation. The meetings are for honoring our God Jehovah and for learning what the Bible really teaches and how to teach it to other interested people. For further information to JW.org.

Meetings at the Kingdom Hall do not involve wild dancing. But they are happy and there is love and visitation afterward. We do love music and dance, but other than the Kingdom songs, we reserve dancing for events like weddings. For truthful representations of what we are like go to JW.org. Ignore naysayers.
