This song is about the lead singer's (Michael) fathers. Michael was in America for the first time and was driving to put his father's comb on Elvis's grave in Mississippi (his father was a huge Elvis fan), when his navigation system had went out and stopped working. Shortly after he saw an eagle in the sky, so he decides to follow it and see where it takes him. The eagle had lead him right to the grave. Michael believes that the eagle was his father guiding his way to the grave site, hence "The eagle of kings wears my father's soul", and "I'll guide you in spirit", so he decided to write this song about it.
