Wanda Jackson – My Big Iron Skillet lyrics
You are doing wrong again it's plain for all to see
And you think here at home is where I ought to be
There's gonna be some changes made when you get in tonight
Cause I'm gonna teach you wrong from right
With my big iron skillet in my hand
Gonna show you how a little woman quits a great big man
If you live through the fight we're gonna have when you get home
You'll wake up and find yourself alone
[ steel ]
You say you're sick and tired of me and that I look a mess
But it's never done on you this is my only dress
I have never met a man who's quite the likes of you
I don't know why I ever said I do
With my big iron skillet...
With my big iron skillet...

The song was actually written by Bob and Wilda (Driggs) Creswell, my aunt & uncle.
Aunt Wilda wrote the lyrics and Uncle Bob wrote the music.
Wilda Driggs-Creswell waa my daddy's younger sister.
Bob was a childhood friend of Wanda Jackson and he contacted her to see if she might be interested in recording it. She said she was, so she and her husband met Uncle Bob and Aunt Wilda at a little cafe in Bristow, Oklahoma, across the street from the courthouse. I recall it vividly because they asked me and my mother to come too. I was age 18.
We had a hamburger dinner while they discussed the deal reguarding the song and all the Rights.
When Wanda recorded it, all credit waa given to her. My uncle and aunt never received a penny for the song, nor credits.
After years of pleads to Ms. Jackson, they finally ended up fialing for the copywright and credits with an attorney. It took years, but they were finally awarded the Rights
It broke Uncle Bob's heart that his life-long friend would do that to him. Even though they won the case, I am not certain they ever got a penny for it, but even so, they deserve the Credit.
They have both passed away now, but still,
I hope you will give them the credit they deserve.
