idk what this song means for sure but it sounds a lot like a breakup song? maybe the reason they couldn't stand lying next to this person is BECAUSE they've broken up/are in a bad relationship? "its like you vaporized through the bed frame" "the spot you were yesterday" "i knew that i would miss those late night ghost stories" they all hint towards some past experiences with this person. a lot of them even hinting that this person is not around anymore (supposedly because of a breakup)

maybe the line "living in too many parking lots this week" is about this couple having lived together but after said breakup, one party having nowhere to live.

"why you kept me from something new?" could definitely be about one party feeling like something was held back from them? like maybe this is about a new friend ? a new stage in their relationship? (this "new stage" referring to their breakup")

the line "i waited for nothing" would make a lot of sense in the context of a struggling relationship!! as if he waited so long for this relationship to get better and it never did, it only got worse.

"but i had no idea it would keep me awake" might be about this restless feeling a lot of people have after heartbreak, especially after the line "i know that i would miss those late night ghost stories". maybe this person is in a lot of distress, stressing over past happy memories. (in this case being their late night ghost stories :)

"i heard every single word you said" maybe this is about some sort of backtalk that this person overheard about themselves? this back talk insinuating that they dont wanna be with our singer anymore?

the line "it's hidden in plain sight" could ALSO be about a struggling relationship, where this person can see all the signs that their relationship might be coming to an end/should be coming to an end. maybe they're even ignoring these signs because they're so in love, that they would be willing to ignore clear warning signs for their own peace of mind.

anyway that's just how i feel! if this isn't what the song is about, i will be impressed! not because i have a big ego and always think im right, (ok maybe it's a little inflated but that's besides the point) but instead because this song would've been written SO well that every line can be interpreted in a way that it wasn't meant to be interpreted ! thank u for reading my very long rambly post<33 hope i convinced ya
