This song is about the selfish and extravagant lavishness that so many preachers, especially in the 1980s, were manipulating people with to get themselves rich. The message of Jesus has been twisted by many to chock people into giving their money in exchange for God's blessings. The preachers get rich while little or no benefit is placed upon the givers. Most of these preachers do little or nothing to help the people who are making them rich through their financial giving. "You're going to get what you deserve" means that these manipulative preachers will somehow get what they deserve, one way or another. How sad and tragic that so many people fall for such garbage. How terrible that something that is intended to enrich people's spiritual lives with goodness is used to fleece the flock for financial gain.
