Miss dakikyo. The qoute "i dont want to be tied to anyone strings" does not mean he don't want to tied but actually youll understand the full meaning of it when you connect it with the next stanza. He don't want to be tied to anybody when he ever find the somebody. That's what the writer want to say. For me the meaning of this song is that most men would like a woman who knows her place in a relationship, a woman who don't overdo things it is that simple.
