What this song means is never give up. A story I'm going to tell is true. Mrs. Andersen's nephew was traveling with his parents. They got out to get gas and when they came back he was gone. They searched everywhere when they saw an ambulence and a crowd. They found out it was him. He was in a coma. One day the nurse said he was almost dead. Then his heartbeat started again. He didn't give up and soon he was alive so much he woke up. That is what never say never means.
