I'm sure it'd mean more than just battle in shallow water, I do agree on the society one though. Push them down (put them down, with words etc. And they just keep doing it). "its not safe to swim today" (in my opinion is its not safe to go into society without being put down or judged by someone.) and the society will be his grave because he can't be saved from all the hate.
