Since the song is called 'Far From Home' and the Album is 'War is the Answer' and with verse 2 about all the places, shattered dreams, never see the faces again, can't find my way home. I think this is a soldier suffering Post Traumatic Stress after coming home from the war and now everything is changed for him even his faith and belief in religion and maybe he sees himself too sinful after all the killing to make it to heaven. Because of the war he's probably suicidal now.
