He is apolagizinng and promising not to let her fall. To catch her no matter the cause to him he will help her bak up even if it kills him. He is broken too. He feels degraded and like his heart is freezing over and making him bitter to protect wats left and he wants it to stop. No matter how hard they try somethin falls apart and makes him die a little more inside.

Her love is like a parisite. He is telling her what she is feeling is not love. Infautuation at the most. Wen she lost interest. She broke him. Crying. Tried to get him bak and he was realizing tht she thought what she was feelin is trrue and he wanted to get thru tht it wasn't. She don't kno what love is bc she probably was around broken relationships most of her life. Puttin in her head love and pain go together perfectly.
