A wife, a sweetheart left her soldier at the train station to go fight in ww11. She's had lots of invitations to go out, but no, she loves her soldierboy so much, she doesn't want to do anything or go anywhere. Without him. She counts the days until he comes home to her. (that was the case then, and is now also with our soldiers. Harry James did a fantastic job of capturing the mood of people during war with the ones they love and left behind or left to go fight).

This is also A love song from A soldier (Maybe) to his wife.
He is far away, but he won't complain, he'll see it through and come home to his love. As long as he knows she will be waiting for him and loves him.
I think this song should be sung today and made popular again. With the same tune. Not A rap or hip hop but with the same beatiful way that harry james meant it to be.
