According to guitarist Zoltan Bathory, Ivan Moody was writing many of the songs on the F8 album while undergoing struggles with alcoholism, so the lyrics have to do with that, and the fear that he might not make it through. Many musicians and artists they knew died while trying to deal with addictions. However, the lyrics (said Bathory) were intentionally vague enough that they could be applied to a variety of situations.
