I sort of agree with Vampire, but. I believe his mother was just really checking on him after he had a screwed-up weekend and had a panic attack or breakdown on Saturday. He must have called her at some point freaking out and Mom called back to touch base and let him know (quietly) that she still loves him. It's about addictrion. He hates himself. It's very hard to be Rock-Star and stay sane.
