Reminds me of my relationship with my father. We used to be super close, but he's so critical. Nothing is ever good enough. I always need to be better. Yeah, I get straight As, but now I should work harder at basketball. Oh now, I'm the best player on my team, but I should work harder at something else. There's always one more thing. I'm never good enough. And yeah, my dad and I still get along a lot of the time, but there's still that under current of how I'm not good enough. I'm smart, but I'm not pretty enough. I'm good at basketball, but I'm not good enough at softball. And I don't take a lot of opinions to heart, but he's my father, I listen to what he says. And he just keeps putting me down and nothing takes that away. This song is the perfect picture of it. Simple Plan=Love. :)

I think this is one of those songs where the meaning you got out of it depends completely on your situation in life and mood. To me, I hear a guy singing to someone he cared a lot about, but died. "The stars lean down to kiss you", "I'd send a postcard to you, dear", "If my voice could reach back through the past." It seems as if he is saying that he can't sent her a postcard or speak to her now, that she's with the stars now. It's such a deep song. Owl City=.

Dudes, seriously, Taylor Swift didn't take her song. She was giving a private concert for a few families, one of those private small deals, and to get everyone's attention she played a little bit of umbrella. She was just messing around. Go look up the sound bite, it's about 56 seconds long, she only did the chorus. Further, Taylor has at least co-written every song on her albums. She can write her own songs. Get your facts straight before you speak.

Good song, this. I love their new cd, much better than past ones. Nick's voice has finally gotten to a lower range which improves their music greatly. Jonaslover, you're wrong. You said they don't sing about their exs. Listen to "Much Better". Total stab at Taylor Swift. "Now I'm done with Super Stars And all the tears on her guitar." Which is an obvious gesture toward "Teardrops on my Guitar". I found it rather amusing actually. Wouldn't it be something if the two of them got back together? Xd And serina101, Nick Jonas did write this song. Jonas Brothers write all of their music and Nick Jonas, alone, is credited for this one. Anyway, great new cd for the Jonas Brothers.

Okay, can people please do me a favor? Stop saying things like "she needs to write more songs like this", "she's expressing her feelings", "she's saying...-insert opinion here-" She isn't saying anything, she isn't expressing anything, she didn't write this song. Give the song writers some credit. They wrote an amazing song with amazing lyrics. It's a pity such horrible vocals had the honor of singing it. But please, stop giving Cyrus credit for the lyrics of this song when she had nothing to do with them. Thank you.

I'm not overly fond of the original Cyndi Lauper version, but it is her song and it's a total classic. I don't like the fact that Miley Cyrus took a classic and totally changed it into this. It isn't the worth version I've ever heard, but it isn't the best either. The arrangement is tolerable but her voice is like nails on a chalkboard. Cyrus is not good enough to take old 80s songs and change them up and sing them. She's a disney star, for heaven's sake. She needs to realize that she is not as important or good as she thinks she is.

You misunderstand me. I do not hate Miley Cyrus. Not in any way. I am disgusted with her quick rise to fame. As I said, a girl her age should not be exposed to that much attention. I don't care who you are. Everyone makes mistakes, yes, but most of them are not in the spotlight. She needs to realize just how many girls look up to her. She doesn't seem to realize it. I know a girl who wants to be just like Miley Cyrus grows up. It saddens me, honestly. "she is a good singer great actor and good inspriation to all kids any age" This statement is completely false. She cannot act. The only person she plays is herself and she even messes that out. She is not a good singer, ask any critic. And as for being an inspiration. Not even close. Maybe the age difference isn't that big. But if he actually liked her, he would wait two years, till she's 18. Think about it. It's like a 13-year-old dating an 18-year-old. Wait till she's 18. It's not even that bothers me. It's the fact that he lives with her family. But I don't hate her. Not at all. I feel bad for her. Someday she's going to look back and regret a lot of what she has done. Or maybe she'll never grow up and never regret any of it, which quite honestly, is even sadder. ((And seriously, please, learn to use punctuation.))

3 cheers for mutt244, who is apparently the only person on here who knows what they're talking about. I must admit, that I do like the lyrics to this song. The lyrics aren't bad. Her voice, however, is complete crap. It's a whiny, annoying voice that makes my head hurt every time. She only is with Disney because of her father. She has no talent. She isn't worthy of the honor to be a role model to young girls. She has proved this time and time again. Vanity Fair, Radiohead, and don't forget the 21-year-old underwear model whom she is currently dating, and who lives in their house. Cyrus pisses me off. She has no talent and she's not even a good role model. No girl her age should have that much attention that young. Turns them into spoiled little brats. Britney Spears, Lindsey Lohan, Olson twins. When Cyrus's career crashes and burns I'm going to be laughing, because I said it from the beginning. Yes. I know everyone is going to give this a thumbs-down. But think about it, do you want young girls following Miley's example. I certainly don't. I'd rather they look up to people like Taylor Swift or some of those other nice singers that have twice the maturity, not to mention talent, that Cyrus does.

I laughed when reading the lyrics but when actually listening to the song, I found it's really touching. I know exactly what she means. Though according to my friend, I'm the trainwreck in this song. Xd. I totally get it though, the whole, you mean the world to me even if you might be crazy. :) I just love the whole song. As I've said before, Demi puts such emotion into her songs. Even if you don't quite understand, you feel like you do. The emotion put into her music flows out of it and into you. She is a true artist and she can only get better from here.

Adorable song, adorable artist. Taylor Swift is such a sweetheart. Her voice will grow as she matures more but she sounds just fine now as well. Her music is so sweet, I love it all. Not to mention the lyrics, I love all her lyrics, she's an amazingly talented song writer. Besides, Taylor is a much better rolemodel for young girls than some others I can think of. Like, uhhum, Miley Cyrus. D

I'm not sure if nonoy05 understands that people aren't social rejects on purpose. People are rejected by regular social standers, because society is elite and pathetic. This song isn't a teenager whining about how sucky their life is. This song is expressing how a good deal of people feel, not just teenagers, or "emos". All people feel this way occasionally. Some more than others. And probably a larger percent of teenagers, but highschool is tough. Get used to it. This song is a great song. It can help you deal with anything, rejection, depression, this song can help you with anything. Too many kids today try to be "emo", "goth", and think being a "social reject" is cool. Coming from one who was, it's not. Being a social reject is litterly being rejected. It hurts and it cuts deep, and the last thing you want to do is talk to someone about it. My radio became my best friend in elementry school and it has stayed that way since. Music is my way out. Takes me away for a little while when I just need to relax. Music helps you to release, all that stress and tension. And this song, more so, because it expresses the thoughts running through your mind so perfectly. It's not an "emo" song, it's not just for "social rejects", and it's not whiney. Look past the sterotypes and listen to it for what it is.
