I don't know; these are C&W stars, after all - could be that they actually agree with the sentiment expressed, and I've heard that these two are big Bush supporters. However, there's a note of skepticism in the phrase: "There's a TV preacher sayin'..." and the final lines, "Now victory will be mine, all the feeble and good say, but in the end and in it's own TIME, righteousness will have its DAY."* In my opinion, B & D have made too vague a statement. I choose to interpret it according to my own agnostic's viewpoint, but some, I'm sure, will see this song as an affirmation of their fundamentalist's belief.
