There's an imbalance between the love that two people share. One, although very much in love, is painfully aware of the inevitable demise and the other unaware of their lover's unhappiness. But how can two people be in love if one is not happy? Therein lies the conflict. The one is holding on to the bond, the familiarity, trying to make sense of what has gone asunder while the other just coasts along, "happy" so long as they don't bring "it" up. There's an underlying fear that both feel, the loss of each other in their respective lives. So they keep on "playing house just cause it feels good. "
