This song is basically about a girl, she has put up with so much bullshit and still is able to put a smile on her face.
Although she was different from everyone else. She hid and made herself invisible but lead singer John Hampson loves loves it when she doesn't hide her emotions and just lets them out.
That's the "Who cried a river and drowned the whole world!" part. She finally let her emotions out and she doubts herself but John over here loves everything about her.
