Blood, sweat, sacrifice and faith put together in a song. Western side of the world will know what they're talking about. Oli feels tired of people telling him God is the answer when he can't see Him anywhere. Maybe he's son to a believer mother and the idea of God is always spinning around, but I love how he's sick of people telling him stuff without even knowing him or what he feels. I love this song because I never feel understood wholly by anyone, and they all try to give me their solutions for my problems and they simply don't work, because it's me in my problems, not they, and they don't feel or think like me. Many can feel related, I think.

I asked for death, but instead I'm awake
This could be a subtle reference to Satanism as LaVey puts it. It's ironic to a Satanist how Satan is depicted as death, but rather he gives you free choice (you're awake). It's not that I'm a Satanist myself, anyone with more knowledge on the subject can help clarifying this.
