I think this is where Taylor's Ex boyfriend breaks up with her and starts going out with the captain of the cheerleaders. His new girlfriend probably doesn't even really love him and is just using him to be popular. Taylor is trying to tell him that she actually loves him and cares about and his new girlfriend doesn't and taylor is trying to tell him that he belongs with her.

This song is soo cool and I wathced the movie and I was surprised because I didn't think that it was going to be anything like that. The meaning of the song probably means that they are best friends and then they found out that they didn't have anything in common or anything alike and that they are saying that in a way they are the same and in their hearts they might have the same feeling for something but they will always be best friends as long as possible.
