What I got from it is that he's talking about 2 different sets of people. A. One guy that has the money and job and what not to live his life on easy street so he gets a trophy and what do we do? We surround him in a white picket fence meaning that we accept that as right. Then B. The other guy has a child out of wedlock but is in love with the woman (hence "2 peas in a pod") but we deem that as wrong. "but between you and me from point a to point b is a fine like that burns at both our good ends." their both equally wrong so why does society accept one and not the other?
