My friend played this song for me when I was going through a hard time in my life where a guy I liked a lot told me he wasn't ready to move forward in our relationship. Even though I was heartbroken, this song helped.
This song is about someone who is so caught up, not only in a hectic lifestyle, but a relationship which is moving to fast for the place both people are at in their lives. It tells the person to slow down and think about where they are going and what they are doing in their life--to enjoy life for awhile. "don't let love pass me by" refers to the relationship. By this she means to slow down and realize if its meant to be it will happen, but don't ruin your chances by trying to rush into it at the wrong time.

This song's meaning is pretty straight forward. A couple had a fight about something and they split--the narrator is one of the couple meeting back up with someone after awhile and telling them how they feel--they feel that even though their relationship in the past had its flaws that it is meant to be and that the other half of the couple is the only person for them.

This song is not just about confessing your feelings to someone you love. To me it about someone who is on the edge of giving up on someone, perhaps because they haven't heard from them for a long time, or maybe the one they want is with someone else and they don't have a chance. The songs tells that someone to "listen to your heart before you say goodbye" or in others words to really think over how you feel about them.
