Callin' out her name I'm dreamin'
Reflections of a face I'm seein'
It's her voice
That keeps on haunting me
In the final verse, it's clear that the singer still has feelings for this girl, he calls out her name in his sleep, and still sees reflections of her face, and finally the sound of her voice still haunts him, which indicates that he hasn't really moved on from her.

The same hotel
The same old room
I'm on the road again
She needed so much more
Than I could give
We knew our love could not pretend
Broken hearts can always mend
In this verse, he's recalling the same hotel and same hotel room he's spent countless nights in whilst on tour, this is exemplified by the line 'I'm on the road again'. He then goes on to say that she needed more than he could give her, possibly due to the rigours of touring, and that they both knew their love could not go on. He then finishes the verse by saying that broken hearts will always mend.

It's been so long
Since I've seen her face
You say she's doin' fine
I still recall a sad cafe
How it hurt so bad to see her cry
I didn't want to say goodbye
He's caught up with a mutual friend of the person he broke up with, explaining that it's been some time since he last saw her, and the mutual friend says she's doing fine. He then goes on to recall the cafe where the breakup happened, and how much it hurt to see her cry and how much he didn't want to say goodbye.
