When we live a life with many secular elements, it is spiritually draining. When we are drained spiritually, it makes it seem like God is very distant even though He's right there with us. The life that God has for us is so much better than the life that the world has for us. People with a genuine desire to follow God want to be taken into a deeper relationship with Jesus. If we have that deeper relationship, our desire for things that spiritually drain us will become less and less. Once we experience God's love personally and intimately, we want to share His love with the world so that others can experience it too.
