I don't the name of the song has much to do with the meaning. My interpretation of it is that a man was in a relationship with a woman he really loved, but he then found out she was using him while having an affair. 'Oh no, I think she knows'-- she knows that he knows about her affair. 'i feel this burning inside, a feeling that no-one should know' -- the feeling of finding out your true love doesn't love you in return & no-one should feel this. 'i'll leave with, No apologies' -- He leaves, and she hasn't even said sorry. 'i never thought I'd be so easily decieved' -- He always thought he'd be able to work out when someone wasn't being truthful with him. 'One by one, we both fall down, but who's the first one to hit the ground' -- He's come back to find out from the girl exactly what happened, and to get an apology. Either he and the girl start shouting and yelling at eachother, and it keeps going until one 'hits the ground'; gives in and stops shouting or the other man walks in and starts fighting with him. 'Whats worse taking the fall, or being stuck standing alone' -- is it worse being in his position, or in the girls position. 'i've got so cold now, that I've lost my heart & soul' -- He feels like he's alone, & that he lost his heart & soul when he lost the one he loves.
