Meaning
The song is about a greek legend / myth, like any other song in this album. The specific meaning for this one is about orpheus and eurydice. Briefly:. Orpheus was born as the child of a prince of thrace (place in greek), and one of the muses. Hence he was gifted with thrace (which he protected), and with a gift for music. When he played his music nothing could resist him. He loved and was married to eurydice, but not for long because she died very soon from a viper sting. Orpheus didn't take it well and wanted to go the dead's world and get her back, planning to charm everyone he needs to in the process (lord of death, the ferryman (as the song mentions), etc.). He went to the underworld and prayed to the gods and asked them to bring eurydice back. Since nothing can resist his voice, they summoned eurydice and told him he can have her back until her years will be spent, but under a condition: that until they won't reach the living world, he won't look at her as she follows him. He agreed and started climbing, knowing that she's still following him, just when they were about to get out, he couldn't bare it because he longed for her so much that he had to take a glance. When he did he was at the living world, but he lost her with hearing "farewell". He tried to run after her, but he couldn't.
