Alright. Here's what I think this song means. Annie is a girl who wants to make everyone happy. Except herself. She is so engrossed in making everyone else around her like her that she doesn't care that she hates herself. It gets to be too much for her to handle. And the guy tries to make her see that she's beautiful. She may not be like the people in a magazine. But Annie is Annie and that's what makes her beautiful.
