I know something about this song most do not. He isn't talking about a message man hes speaking about the message. And then saying man afterwords. The message he is referring to is the bible messages. All of his songs are religious. So he's saying don't mess with the message and only a few understand what he just said. "these lyrics aren't for everyone only few understand". Well now we all understand.

Hes saying that as we get older we only got weirder and weirder unlike what is expected now a days. The world today has certain rules saying that now your an adult you can't have fun you can't play games you can't do any of that without being looked down upon.

I'm gonna break this down. "I walk to you" well hes speaking toward god. Hes a christian and strong in his faith. "Rain falls from you" also referencing god and the "wash me drown me", he wants his sin washed away completely and the "drown me" is saying his sin is so deep that he feels that he needs to become someone else and let god mold him into the person he originally planned him out to be. He feels the sin taking over and this is his repentance.
