This song is about the state of the music industry and the lies that certain artists are selling to their fanbase: "...amazing that we got this far...chasing all those stars..driving shiny black cars." When he says "Till all my sleeves are stained red from all the truth that I've said..." he's talking about being someone who wears their heart on their 'sleeves', a truthful person who's able to share his/her life story with a complete stranger instead of making up stories to make themselves look cool. "Don't need another perfect lie, don't care if critics jump in line..." means that "I don't care if I'm criticized for speaking truthfully, I'm gonna make music that I can be proud of even if no one else agrees with me."
